5 tips to planning the perfect birthday party

Parties are a lot of fun, but if you are the one planning it, it can be stressful! Here are somethings I do to make planning a birthday party as easy as possible:

#1-Use the free Canva feature to make the invitations. The you can either print them yourself and hand them out or what I do is text the invite to people or post it online in a private group.

#2-Keep it simple. I don’t know about you, but in my experience, most kids don’t need anything fancy or elaborate. This year for my daughters birthday, all she wants is to have her friends over to watch movies and have pizza and snacks. Which makes it super easy for me, all I have to do is get the food. No spending extra money on entertainment or games or crafts.

My daughters 11th birthday, she wanted to watch a Harry Potter movie with some friends.

#3-Use the dollar store to your advantage. I get all the supplies (plates, cups, utensils, napkins, tablecloths), decorations, treats, etc. It doesn’t break the bank and makes clean up super easy.

#4-Make your own cake or cupcakes. Box cake mixes and pre-made frosting are good or it is pretty easy to make from scratch as well. Bonus if you get sprinkles and let your kids do the decorating.

#5-Re-use birthday decorations. It doesn’t have to be fancy. We have used (and will use) the same birthday decorations until it is time to get new ones. 🙂

We use this same sign every year.

Bonus #6-Relax and have fun! I know it is hard, you want everything to be perfect. Trust me, your kids will love their party no matter what.
